Mec-Gar USA builds this magazine to feed double stack 1911 pistols with 18 rounds of 9mm Luger. Load one more into the chamber and you run 18+1 and the magazine still sits flush in the grip. You pick up real capacity without a base pad hanging below the frame or changing how the gun carries.

It drops into the 2011 2311 Prodigy and clones built on the double stack 1911 platform so a single magazine covers most of the popular products in that family. That makes it an easy choice whether you are stocking spares for a match gun a duty setup or a range pistol you shoot every week. The 18-round count keeps you loaded longer between reloads and the flush fit means it indexes cleanly on the draw.

The build is where this Mec-Gar earns its reputation. The Anti-Friction coating helps rounds slide in during loading and cuts down on malfunctions under repeated cycling. That same finish resists corrosion far better than a bare steel surface so the magazine holds up to sweat and humidity. Inside a heat-treated carbon steel tube gives the body its strength and holds its shape after thousands of load cycles. A high tensile music wire spring keeps consistent pressure on the stack from the first round to the eighteenth and a high-impact polymer follower feeds each round straight into the chamber. The polymer floorplate finishes it off and takes the impact when you drop an empty magazine on concrete during a fast reload.
